Karla Souza leaving How to Get Away with Murder as series regular
According to TVLine, original series regular Karla Souza no longer has that title for the final season of the show, making the exact episode count for her moving forward unclear. The character disappeared at the end of season 5, but we long assumed that there would be a way in order to ensure that we would see her turn up at some point. That will potentially still happen, but it may not be for a long period of time.
We remain of the personal belief that we will see Laurel again, but with the change in status of course comes a massive change when it comes to the central mystery. The whereabouts of Laurel are going to be a huge part of her upcoming story but, to go along with that, you’ll also see question marks aplenty revolving around whether or not Annalise is really dead in the flash-forwards. The sight of the casket seems to strongly suggest that she is, but we think that we’ve come to know one thing about this show more than anything else: It always has a tendency to surprise. We wouldn’t put it past Annalise Keating to be able to fake her own death so that she could go and live a different life somewhere else.
With Souza’s departure, we are losing yet another original cast member — these are becoming more and more of a precious bunch these days! Just remember what already happened to Wes earlier on in the series’ run and, knowing how the producers for this show operate, we do think that there is a chance some other people could be gone before the end.
For now, we’ll just say that we’re super curious to know not only where Laurel is, but how her disappearance could impact almost everyone in the long-term.
