Grey’s Anatomy season 16: Is a Jackson – Vic romance happening?
Let’s start things off here with an explanation of some of where we left off: Jackson had vanished off into the fog at the end of the season 15 finale, with the idea being that he was going to be worse for wear. The promos also teased a certain degree of jeopardy for him. We obviously want to believe that he will be all right, but we know Grey’s Anatomy. We understand how they work. We recognize that Williams has a new contract to return to the show and that’s a hopeful sign, but we’ve seen characters sign a contract only to leave before. (Patrick Dempsey is an example of that, as he left before his deal was over.)

That’s where we are now entering the first episode. Moments later, it appeared as though Jackson was going to be okay! He had found some other people in the fog he was trying to rescue.
So Jesse is sticking around — here’s where we get to the real surprise. Over the course of the premiere, what we ended up seeing was the foundation of a relationship between Jackson and Vic from Station 19! We heard conversation about there being a cross-show romance, but still, it’s not what we expected — especially after some of what Vic went through last year on that show. At the end of the episode tonight, Jackson claimed that he was just “friends” with Vic, but is it going to be that way forever? It’s something that is worth wondering at the moment, and it’s something that could create a cross-show storyline for some time moving forward.
Remember this — the show’s producers noted that we’re going to be doing more cross-show storylines this year. This is evidence.
