For The Masked Singer, it was able to weather the ratings storm without a problem. After all, these two episodes generated a 2.3 and then a 2.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic — a sign that airing opposite Survivor does still have some sort of impact.
Meanwhile, the 90-minute premiere of Survivor: Island of the Idols ended up drawing a 1.2 rating in the demo. This is a show that isn’t necessarily drawing the same crowds that it once did, but it’s still holding its own in comparison to a lot of other programs that are out there on the air right now. It did beat the majority of the competition outside of The Masked Singer, save for Big Brother, which drew a 1.3 rating for its own 90-minute finale.
There’s likely to be some flux for all of these ratings throughout the season, but we do remain confident that The Masked Singer is going to continue to perform well for a multitude of reasons. Take, for starters, the mystery at the heart of the show … plus some of the ratings from last season. That showed that this is not the sort of thing that is going to just fade into the background over time.
In the end, Wednesday could be one of our favorite nights of the entire season — let’s not forget in here that you’re also going to be seeing a lot of One Chicago content over the next few weeks. These shows are going to generate a lot of ratings over the course of the next few weeks and we imagine that we’ll continue to see it do well in total viewers.
