Legacies season 2 spoilers: The Originals alum Riley Voelkel to appear

Legacies season 2 is going to continue to be a great standalone show — yet, at the same time, there’s also a larger universe here. The CW series is going to do what it can in order to showcase the Vampire Diaries universe going forward.

According to a report from TV Guide, Riley Voelkel is going to be appearing as her old The Originals character of Freya on episode 6 of the new series. There are few details out there about how or why she will be turning up, but the fact that she is turning up alone suggests that we’ll get some callbacks to her former show.

Voelkel is far from the first alumni of either The Originals or The Vampire Diaries to show up, and we’re sure that she will be far from the last. There was originally a plan to have her on the new series before, but scheduling conflicts with Roswell, New Mexico made it difficult. Things seem to be working out this go-around!

Legacies season 2 is going to be starting off with Hope in great peril, as she will be both separated from most of the world she loves. Not only that, but most of this world is going to have no clear recollection of who she is! That’s such a dark, painful story to tell, as there’s nothing worse than being forgotten. We’re hoping that Hope will be back in the real, mystical world by the time that Freya turns up, and maybe she will be the one that will be able to ultimately help one way or another to hone more of Hope’s magical abilities.

Expect Voelkel’s episode to air in either November or December; Legacies season 2 is going to premiere with new episodes come next month.
