El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie trailer: Jesse Pinkman is a broken man
Is Jesse Pinkman a perfect person? Hardly. We’re not even sure that you could label him a good person. Yet, at the same time he’s just been broken beyond repair by the actions of some of the people who are around him. Take, for example, what happened to him with his enslavement in season 5, or how he was manipulated at the hands of Walter White and transformed into something else. Add to that the death of Jane which he never really got past and what happened to Brock. He’s no longer the same young guy that he once was at the start of the flagship AMC series. He’s torn up on the inside and he’s wanted on the outside.

One of our big takeaways from watching this trailer is that the choice of music is incredible. The same goes for the cinematography and the sense of isolation that Jesse is dealing with. Judging from his appearance alone, it looks as though a significant amount of time passed from the end of Breaking Bad to the start of the movie, and he’s still going to be dealing with being on the run. There’s no easy road out from what he went through at the end of the series itself. He may need to find a way to disappear, to do something a little bit similar to what happened with Saul Goodman at the end of Breaking Bad.
Could El Camino have some sort of tie to the Better Call Saul world? That’s a subject that we’ve covered over at the link here and, for now, we think that it’s doubtful. While some shows do trade often within the world of coincidence, that’s not the Breaking Bad way.
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie will arrive on Netflix on October 11. We’ll have some more news on the project as we get ever closer, but we’re anticipating all sorts of greatness.
