God Friended Me season 2 premiere sneak peek: Learn about Joy!

The God Friended Me season 2 premiere is heading onto CBS next weekend and one of the things we’re most excited for at present is this: The opportunity to learn more about Joy. After all, the premiere episode is entitled “Joy”! If that wasn’t a sign that this character was going to be important, we don’t really know what is.

So what do we actually know about this character at the moment? Not that much, other than that she got a suggestion from the God Account at the end of last season and that is really the crux for some of the lead-up entering the premiere. Why the owner of said God Account chose her is quite the mystery. The sneak peek below adds to that, given that Joy seems to be a rather ironic name for someone who doesn’t have a lot of it.

As it turns out, Joy is not altogether interested in doing the bidding of someone who refers to themselves as God. She doesn’t consider herself to be the helping type and, to go along with that, she also doesn’t seem all that excited about the idea of being told what to do via social media. She resists Miles’ thoughts about working together … or at least she does at first. The one thing that causes her to rethink this idea is the notion that Miles can help her. As of right now, she’s being woken up at all hours of the night by this account and doesn’t know what to do with it. That’s an exhausting existence and something that we’re sure is rather hard for her to deal with.

While it’s unclear at the moment if Joy is going to be a part of the God Squad in the long run, we can at least feel like there’s an interesting (and different) story to tell over the next few weeks. We’re excited to see how God Friended Me wants to explore that.
