Outlander season 5 filming update: Who’s in the woods today?
Yesterday, we wrote about Lauren Lyle and Cesar Domboy engaging in some adventures on set as Marsali and Fergus. Today, we’re shifting the focus elsewhere over to what’s going on with Sophie Skelton! In a new post on her Instagram Stories, you can see Sophie deep in the woods for what should be a fun Brianna scene within one of the final four episodes. When we saw the teases from Lyle and Domboy, they were of a little more of a clearing. It’s possible that this was just prior to the two of them going into the woods, but this could easily just be a case of there being some separate storylines filming over the course of a few days. We know that Caitriona Balfe has also been on set recently, which makes it an active past several days for production! That makes sense — when you are near the end of a season, you want as many different characters around as humanly possible.
We know that we often don’t hear when certain actors are on set, and there is a good reason for that — beyond just trying to avoid spoilers. There are still a number of interior scenes that are filmed at the studio, and for those, you often don’t see actors/producers sharing much in the way of behind-the-scenes tidbits. A part of that is due to fear of giving something away; another part is that simply, the studio life isn’t always the most glamorous to shoot. There’s something about seeing the wires and the concrete walls that can destroy the illusion of the show.
No matter where the actors are working, rest assured that Outlander will continue to push forward towards its premiere date — and also deliver the best take on The Fiery Cross possible.
