Outlander season 5 filming: More Adso – Caitriona Balfe fun
In a new post on her Instagram Stories, Caitriona Balfe confirmed that she was having some “bonding time” earlier today with the female on the show’s set, while Adso was wearing a harness and leash. Adso is one of the new additions to this season, and with the status of Young Ian and Rollo to be determined (at least for those unfamiliar with the books), he will take the title of “Adorable Animal to Watch For.” We’re still continuously impressed that someone was able to train a cat for this sort of work, and we say this as a cat owner who struggles to get theirs to do much of anything.
Still, cats do have a tendency to do just about whatever they want — that is something that Caitriona has expressed in a number of different interviews already.
Given where Outlander is in filming at the moment, be prepared to see Adso both in the early going this season and then also closer to the end. While his precise role on the show is to be seen, we imagine that the cat will prove useful to Claire’s surgical practice, as he works to keep mice and other critters at by. In that way, the cat helps to make things a little more sanitary! He’s a hunter, and he’s also a recognizable part of the family.
In addition to Adso, there have been some human additions to Outlander season 5 so far — though Starz has been somewhat cagey when it comes to giving away details about many of them. That could change at some point between now and the new season premieres.
