Who should come back: Arizona (Grey’s Anatomy), Tony (NCIS), Hotch (Criminal Minds), & Barba (SVU)

Through most of the month of September to date, CarterMatt readers have been working to answer one simple question: Who should come back? We introduced this poll series with 24 characters divided up into four groups of six, and within these groups, two advanced to the next round. That brings us to today, as the first four semifinalists are set to engage in battle!

In this piece, Rafael Barba, Tony DiNozzo, Aaron Hotchner, and Arizona Hotchner are all going to have a chance to compete for two spots in the finale. We’ll have a poll at the bottom of this article for you to have your voice heard. Remember, two of these four will make it to the final round — if one character breaks out to a big lead, there’s still hope for another one to make a leap forward to the finals!

Voting rules – Vote however often you’d like! This poll will remain open until Sunday, September 22 at 3:00 p.m. Pacific time. The finale in this poll series will begin on September 23, with the winner crowned one week later on the 30th! Rafael Barba, Law & Order: SVU – It still feelings like there are opportunities for Barba to return to this show — there have always been opportunities for Barba to return! It comes down to Raul Esparza’s availability and find the right story, but given that we’ve seen Cabot again since her exit, we’ll continue to hold out optimism for the former ADA.

Tony DiNozzo, NCIS – As evidenced by the results of the first round, we do think that there is a lot of enthusiasm in order to see Tony back on the show — there are a number of logistical and scheduling difficulties that go along with trying to make it happen, but it’s hard to look at things with Ziva returning and think that such a return is impossible.

Aaron Hotchner, Criminal Minds – We know that there’s long been those out there hoping to see one of the show’s original leads back for the end of the road, and we imagine that some of these people will continue to speak out through the final season. We haven’t heard anything about a Thomas Gibson cameo in the already-filmed episodes, but there’s at least a chance for a mention.

Arizona Robbins, Grey’s Anatomy – It was a close competition for her to enter the next round of the tournament but when the dust settled, she found a way to earn her way here! Arizona’s got heart, passion, and while she’s on the other side of the country from Seattle, we always think there is hope for a reprisal.
