NCIS season 17 spoilers: Whose backstories will we get more of?
Yet, Cote is not a series regular — even though that would be fun. There are a lot of episodes coming up this season that will be about other subjects, and it sounds as though we’re going to have a chance to see some other characters on the show get attention. Speaking via TVLine, executive producer Steven Binder made it clear that the show “may dig into Jimmy Palmer’s home life a little,” which is exciting since it feels like it’s been a while. If Palmer’s wife Breena ends up appearing, it will mark her first time on the show since back in 2015. As of right now, though, these sound more like discussions rather than certainties — keep that in mind.

Meanwhile, Binder also notes that we could have a chance to dive more into Kasie Hines’ background, which is exciting given that she is the newest regular on the show. Most of what we know about her right now is in relation to how she arrived on the team, plus also a few little details we pick up here and there along the way.
How things tend to work for characters like Kasie and Palmer is that we have opportunities to see big stories featuring them maybe once or twice a season — they’re involved elsewhere on a number of occasions, but every now and then they get to be at the center of the action. That’s important to give the actors great material, but also to allow the writers to mix things up creatively.
Remember that the NCIS season 17 premiere is coming on Tuesday, September 24 — we’re only a matter of a couple weeks away!
