The Good Place season 4 video: Behind the scenes with Kristen Bell, cast
Well, the final episodes are going to be coming your way this September, and in the video below the cast all discuss what it’s like coming back to finish off this story. They confirm what’s already been out there, first and foremost — the decision to end this series was a creative one. It has nothing to do with NBC wanting to pull the plug on what has been one of their most-popular shows of the past several years. We think that this probably could’ve gone another couple of years and been more than fine, but clearly the folks at the network felt like now was the proper time to really start winding things down a little bit.

This video does also set up the story for the new season, reminding you first and foremost of the way that season 3 ended — with our heroes getting another chance to run the simulation in order to prove that people are capable of change. Eleanor is now having to mask herself as the Architect, while the Bad Place has chosen four people to be the new test subjects, including Chidi’s former girlfriend from Earth. Things are going to be awkward, but also hilarious. There’s going to be a massive journey for answers that these characters go on, and we just have to hope that by the end of this, they are able to find their way towards what they all really want — happiness. Even if they aren’t in The Good Place after they die, we’re sure that they want to at least end up somewhere that they can be reasonably comfortable with the life that they have lived.
Since we can’t hope for another season, let’s just hope entering the final batch of episodes for a forking awesome conclusion that gives us closure … and also laughs.
