NBC’s ‘The Voice’ review: A great night for Avery Wilson, Chevonne

The final edition of “The Voice” battle rounds aired on Tuesday night, and at some some of the solid talent from the show was featured here in this one final edition. However, it was a little bit of an interesting situation given that Christina Aguilera was the only person who had the “steal” on the night, so most of the drama was remained moot for at least part of the night.

Here are the final battles of the night that we actually saw something substantial of, and we’ll leave it to you tonight to figure out just right or wrong you thought the coaches made it when it came to their final decisions.

Adriana Louise vs. Jordan Pruitt (Christina) – For our first battle of the night, we had one where Christina could not use her steal no matter how badly she wanted to, as she had yet another pair of pop powerhouses coming up. We do love the song choice here in Katy Perry’s “Hot N’ Cold,” mostly because it is so playful, youthful, and fun. We really actually enjoyed both of these singers, so we can’t really say that either one of them deserved to go home. However, Christina ended up goign against her own Disney roots and picked Adriana to advance.

Kelly Crapa vs. Michaela Paige (Blake Shelton) – We had a country artist against a rocker, and it was really a pretty fun battle to watch given that the song was almost straight down the middle for both of them. Really, though, the problem with this battle for Kelly was that it was almost a t-bone steak to her four-ounce filet. She was just not intense enough for the song, and to us Michaela really ate her alive. Ultimately, Blake agreed, and Kelly did not get a steal. Wonder why that is? To raise the intensity for the final battle!

Avery Wilson vs. Chevonne (Cee Lo) – Really, in some ways it hardly even matters who won this battle, mostly because Christina was set to steal whoever Cee Lo did not pick.  Cee Lo did take Avery as his winner, but then Chevonne ended up going straight over to Christina’s team.
