If we’re thinking about last night’s episode, we would describe the performances using one word and one word only: Weird. This was one of the strangest two hours we’ve seen of any semifinal given that there were a lot of acts who just disappointed. Yet, with certain acts falling down, does this give others more of a chance? That’s one of the fascinating things to think about at the moment.

Dunkin’ Save contenders – Fairly early on in tonight’s episode, host Terry Crews revealed that the acts in need of the save are. Light Balance Kids, Ndlovu Youth Choir, and Robert Finley found themselves in danger. Our immediate reaction here is that Robert will get the save — he’s just got the emotional connection to the public that the other acts don’t have, and we say that knowing that the other two acts are both stellar in their own right. Personally, we think that Ndlovu has been one of the most underrated all season by the public.

The Results – The first act saved is Kodi Lee — no surprise there, given that he is favorite to win. Meanwhile, Tyler Butler-Figueroa and Benicio Bryant also made it through. Based on what we saw last night, no real surprises there.

The Dunkin’ Save ended up going to Light Balance Kids, which was definitely a surprise since we assumed that Robert had this in the bag. Finally, Ndlovu Youth Choir is moving on thanks to the judges! We’ve got our first five acts, and there is definitely a lot of variety here.
