Mike Johnson leaving Bachelor in Paradise after Rose Ceremony

Bachelor in Paradise season 5 premiere date

Fairly early on in Tuesday night’s Bachelor in Paradise episode, we knew that there were some big questions with Tayshia Adams. Would she stick around in the competition, or would she decide to leave Mexico for good?

Through the early part of this episode, Tayshia admitted that she wasn’t sure that there was a way to make things work — there was a lot of drama under the bridge and, beyond that, she didn’t know if her feelings are strong enough. Yet, that was enough for her to stick around.

In the end, though, we did lose a popular person in Bachelor Nation tonight as Mike ended up saying goodbye to everyone in Paradise. He wanted to find someone — he danced and flipped around the beach! Yet, it wasn’t enough to get him someone in Paradise. He didn’t seem devastated by his exit like he was via Hannah Brown’s season of the show, but he was certainly frustrated.

For the record, so are we — Mike deserves love. Yet, he hasn’t been able to find it despite some of the feelings that he has. We’d love for him to be the next Bachelor, but all indications suggest that it’s going to be Peter and we get the sense that there’s never been much competition for the gig — they were ready to give it to Peter almost from the moment Hannah’s season ended. That’s at least our thought on it. There is that part of us that of course wants to see a little bit more of Mike on Bachelor in Paradise down the road, but we also cannot forget how great it would be to actually just have him go out and find something in the real world — something that is separate from a lot of the drama of this show.
