The Good Doctor season 3 promo analysis: Shaun’s determination
There was a new promo that aired during tonight’s Bachelor in Paradise, one that ran for around thirty seconds and contained some different footage than anything that we’ve seen before. The only teaser we’d seen to date focused on Shaun’s romantic life, and there continued to be a little bit focus on that subject.

Yet, at the same time, this promo also focused a little bit on medicine — new patients who are coming into the St. Bonaventure Hospital. Shaun was re-hired as a doctor at the end of the season after what happened with Dr. Jackson Han. Now, he has a chance to move forward and remind people of why he’s so good at his job: His determination. He doesn’t give up until he exhausts almost every possible option. That’s what he does when it comes to a woman who seems to be knocking on death’s door. He isn’t willing to let her go. You see a brief little sequence of Shaun trying to figuring out the problem in his head.
The Good Doctor is a show where sad things do happen, but we think that it’s also a show about hope. That’s what the spirit of the new promo is about: hope. Finding a way to feel a little bit better about the world and the job that you can do for others. Shaun may have a hard time expressing care all of the time to his patients, but his actions speak for that more than anything.
We’re excited for the new season to be here, and we’re equally so for everyone to be able to see these characters again. It’s not going to be all sunshine and flowers, but maybe you’ll exit the new season feeling a little better about life and some of the faces behind medicine … even if these doctors are fictional.
