NCIS: Los Angeles season 11 video: David James Elliott on Harm’s return

NCIS: Los Angeles

The NCIS: Los Angeles season 11 premiere will be here before long, and there are a lot of things that you have to look forward to! Take, for example, an action-packed story involving a missile attack in the Middle East … and of course the return of David James Elliott and Catherine Bell.

If you loved JAG, you have a lot to look forward to still! The season 10 finale features Harm and Mac in the same scenes, but not in the same room — it was a part of a video call! In the premiere, though, you’re going to get a chance to see the two characters eventually in the same room together. That’s a chance to showcase the chemistry here, and see if the two are actually going to make their relationship into something that really lasts.

In the video below (via Entertainment Tonight), you can see Elliott talk a little bit about being back on the set of the CBS show and how it didn’t take long for him to get back into Harm’s shoes. Prior to the end of last season, it had been a long time since Elliott had played this character. Yet, he took on Harm for so long that he understands firmly who this guy is and what he fights for. Also, NCIS: Los Angeles and JAG have enough familiarity and continuity that it probably makes playing the character a little bit easier.

One thing that we would especially point to is Elliott’s response in the ET video to the idea of playing the character in a full-on JAG revival. He doesn’t answer the question outright, but he does joke about it. It’s enough to make you think that he could be interested in playing this role again for a full-fledged show … if there’s a way to do it. Catherine Bell has another show in Good Witch, so we don’t see it being a full-time thing. Yet, wouldn’t it be a full thing to do almost as an 6-8 episode summer series? It could help to make the hiatus a little bit easier.
