Outlander season 5 notes! Sam Heughan, filming, Caitriona Balfe, & more

Outlander season 4

Welcome to a special Saturday edition of Outlander notes! We’ve got a ton of great stuff to discuss within this piece, starting with the latest from season 5 production.

While we don’t believe that there is filming that takes place for the entire cast every Saturday, there does appear to be something going on today. If you jettison yourself over to the Instagram Stories of star Sam Heughan, you can see what looks to be a number of people on set with a rainbow in the background. The rain in Scotland has been pretty relentless as of late, and the team has to get some of their filming in while they can. Why? Just think about it this way: There is a lot of rain coming in Scotland over the next few days. You have to strike here while the metaphorical iron is hot if you want to get a lot of good stuff in!

For more evidence of some of what the cast has been through already when it comes to inclement weather, check out the photo HERE via Tim Downie (who plays Governor Tryon on the series). The good news here for the cast is that clearly, someone is supplying some rather-large umbrellas in order to protect that powdered wig!

Caitriona Balfe’s new project is out

In between binge-watching the first two Outlander seasons on Netflix, be sure to also check out The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. The revival of the beloved Jim Henson property is streaming now, and it boasts an incredible cast. Not only do you have Caitriona on board as a voice actor, but also the likes of Sigourney Weaver, Simon Pegg, Toby Jones, Nathalie Emmanuel, Andy Samberg, Lena Headey, Mark Hamill, and many others. If you’re feeling nostalgic or just looking for something totally different this weekend, we highly recommend going and checking that out now.

What do you want to see in terms of Outlander filming moving forward? Be sure to share now in the comments, and check back soon to get some more news when it comes to the series.
