Following last night’s season 4 finale, do you want to know more of what’s coming in terms of Queen of the South season 5? The latest preview that CarterMatt has for you below serves as a chance to get a small sense of things.
Yet, remember this: Season 5 technically hasn’t filmed yet. With that, there is really only so much that the USA series can show. They have to focus in the teaser on what they want the new season to be about. In this case, it’s all about the upcoming collaboration with the Russians … if they are a collaboration at all. The thing about Teresa is that with every season, she finds herself continually roped in with people who are routinely more dangerous. This is one of her most dangerous situations to date since this is a larger operation. Teresa is expanding, and it does seem like she’s now past the point of no return. There’s no real slowing things down when you think about the spot that she’s in. Things are only going to get worse, and you just have to hope that she’s prepared for that … and whatever could come as a result of it.
The fifth season of the show is also going to be anchored by the return of James, who turned up at the end of season 4. We know that there were a ton of people out there who missed the character during his time away, so what are we going to see from him moving forward? It feels foolish to imagine that this is going to be the same exact James that we saw previously.
While the end of the teaser notes that season 5 is going to be premiering “soon,” we don’t get any indication that this is anything but a relative term. In our mind, season 4 of Queen of the South probably isn’t going to be coming until we get around to the new year — presumably, next summer. Be prepared to be patient to see everything that comes around the bend — there’s no word on whether or not season 5 will be the final one, but we absolutely have hope for more.
