Magnum PI season 2 premiere spoilers: Higgins’ decision & more

Magnum PI season 2 is premiering on Friday, September 27, and one thing will feel different from the jump. It’s on a new night! For the first time, this show and Hawaii Five-0, which are both filmed close to each other, are going to be airing side by side. Maybe this could lead to more synergy down the road, but that is not something that will be a priority in the short-term.

Want to know what is? It’s a little something along the lines of waiting to see if Magnum and Higgins end up becoming partners in the PI business. They work so much together that it makes a little bit of sense … but that doesn’t mean that it will happen. She does have some other stuff going on, and maybe she likes the arrangement as it is! Even if she says no, it’s easy to still believe that she’ll continue to be involved.

“Payback is for Beginners” – While Magnum waits for Higgins to decide if she’ll officially become his partner, he takes the case of a missing wife who witnessed her boss’ murder during a bank robbery. Also, Rick makes a big decision about his career, on the second season premiere of MAGNUM P.I., Friday, Sept. 27 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

What excites us about this episode is that it represents an even purer era of what this show will be. Think about it — the writers had a chance to look at everything that they liked on the first season and build from there. The audience also knows what they appreciate more about it now. Remakes can take some time because you have to figure everything out — you need your own identity, and viewers need to allow you time in order to find that identity. Really, you just need to deliver good entertainment and withstand any early blowback from people who don’t think it will measure up. Magnum PI has found its way and it should be a fun season ahead.
