Even if “The X Factor” continues to sag behind what were originally some pretty lofty expectations for the show, there is still some great news coming in now from Fox: they are still hungry for more.
In a statement, Simon Cowell (who has steered the ship as the head judge and executive producer since first bringing the show to America) had the following to say about his gratitude at getting yet another season for the competition. In other words, he has apparently gotten over the fact that Fox preempted him and threw him around like a rag doll for what originally supposed to be a judges’ houses show airing last Wednesday:
“I couldn’t be happier about The X Factor already being renewed for another season … I am so proud of the show and the team who have made it this season. I want to thank our incredible sponsors for their support and creativity, and FOX for going out of their way to do everything they can to make this show a success. Most importantly, I have to personally thank our amazing fans for the support and enthusiasm they have given to THE X FACTOR. Our main commitment will always be to find great talent, and let’s not forget, we are now days away from our first live shows. The gloves are off! Expect fireworks!”
With this news out there, the only other question that remains is whether or not Britney Spears and Demi Lovato could return for another season. In the case of the latter, we have to think it’s likely given her great chemistry with Cowell and the extra support this brings to her career. As for Britney, she is as much of a wild card as she has always been. She certainly does not need the millions that she would make if she returned, and there have been some times already where it has looked as though she does not love crushing the dreams of singing hopefuls.
Are you happy about this news, and do you think the full panel (which is much-improved from last year) will return?
