The Power season 6 premiere is arriving on Starz tomorrow, and rest assured, it’s going to be crazy. This is a violent, dramatic final batch of episodes, one where Ghost’s legacy is on the line and the lives of everyone are in danger.
How should you prepare for it? We think that checking out the video below from Good Morning America is a nice start, given that within this, Omari Hardwick, La La Anthony, Naturi Naughton, and 50 Cent (executive producer) all come out to discuss the story that is coming up. You hear about how Ghost is feeling after Tommy shoots Angela, coupled with the sense of emotion through the remainder of the story. There’s a good sense of finality within (fittingly) this final season, and you also hear in here some of the stuff the cast took away from the set. A lot of it is various odds and ends like props, but Hardwick admits that he snagged some of James St. Patrick’s suits.
Want some more Power video discussion? We’ve also got a clip of our own below where we go through what could be coming, based on the recent trailer! Watch that, and remember to both subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube and view our show playlist.
Here’s another part of the discussion that we find fascinating — a mere 48 hours after the premiere airs, 50 Cent claims work is beginning on Power Book II: Ghost, the spin-off to the series that was recently announced. There aren’t many details about what that show could be, but given that it’s entitled the way that it is, we think it’s fair to assume that it could be a follow-up — and it could be someone else taking on the Ghost title. If Jamie just has it again, isn’t it mostly the same show as Power? We think that the producers probably do need to change things up a little bit, and this is the right time to make it happen after so many years.
The first half of Power season 6 will be coming this summer/fall; meanwhile, the final batch of episodes is slated to premiere in January.
