‘Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars’: Melissa Rycroft briefly hospitalized over injury

The ballroom bug has struck again on “Dancing with the Stars,” and this time, it led to a pretty scary situation involving former “Bachelor” star Melissa Rycroft on Sunday. Multiple sources confirm that after suffering some sort of neck and back injury while rehearsing for the show, she was forced to be rushed to the hospital, where she was accompanied by both her dancer partner Tony Dovolani (who is looking for his first Mirrorball Trophy of his carrer) and her husband Tye Strickland.

The good news here is that the injuries do not appear to be severe, at least when it comes to them potentially having any sort of long-term effects. Rycroft’s rep tells People Magazine that she has already been released from the hospital, and is now on the mend.

What is still a little bit unclear at the moment, however, is just if she is going to be in good enough shape to actually perform on the show this week. If she cannot make it through the regular routine or rehearsal, it could very well mean that she will be heading out the door due to matters out of her control. For those of you wondering whether or not Rycroft could get a reprieve, though, by the change in the schedule this week thanks to the Presidential debate, there’s a problem: even though we are not going to see some routines until the show on Tuesday, this will actually be taped on Monday night.

Ultimately, we would still be surprised if Melissa does not perform given how badly she wants this, though a firm decision will probably not be made until the show actually ends up airing. (Producers do like to keep some thing a surprise.)
