NCIS season 17: New Cote de Pablo – behind the scenes photo!
In a new post on Instagram (see below), you can see a new behind-the-scenes tease of de Pablo courtesy of Wilmer Valderrama. This is the first photo that we’ve seen with Cote, Valderrama, and Emily Wickersham ever on the set of the show, and seeing all three of them together is all sorts of delightful. The smiles on their faces are infectious, and it’s nice to see all three of them having a good time together. Is it September yet – pretty please?
In a lot of ways, we’re surprised to even see a photo featuring Cote out there at all right now — CBS and producers have been extremely coy when it comes to information getting out there about the premiere! We know that she’s going to be featured in the first episode of the season, and we do certainly hope that there are going to be more opportunities down the line so see her back for more. The door is open now for all kinds of possibilities!

Ziva’s role in the premiere is going to be helping Gibbs (Mark Harmon) after she comes to him proclaiming that someone is out there threatening his life. While we don’t think that this photo confirms anything when it comes to Cote filming scenes with Wilmer or Emily, seeing the three of them together does give us a lot of hope. Cote’s also wearing a different outfit and sporting a different hairstyle than at the end of last season, which suggests that Ziva’s return to the show will span at least a few days in the run of the story.
For everyone out there wondering, we don’t think the photo was taken today — the shirt that Wilmer is wearing is different from the one he shared in his Instagram Story earlier. While he could’ve changed, we don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up that Cote is still on set.
NCIS season 17 will premiere on CBS this September.
