9-1-1 season 3: Ronda Rousey injured filming in Mexico
According to a new report from TMZ, the MMA fighter and WWE wrestler injured a couple of her fingers during an on-set incident while the show was filming in Mexico. Per the website, she was meant to slam a door intensely during a scene and ended up slamming it on her own fingers. She broke her middle finger and nearly severed a tendon; meanwhile, the tip of her ring finger suffered a fracture, as well.

Perhaps the most incredible part of the story (and the part that seems the most typical for a fighter like Rousey) is that after the injury, she stayed in character and worked to finish the scene. After the fact, she went and received medical attention … and then showed up for work the very next day.
Rousey is set to play (appropriately), a tough firefighter in a recurring role on the upcoming season. Maybe this is a case of art imitating life; or, if nothing else this is a reminder that Rousey’s developed a tolerance for pain due to everything else that she’s done in her career.
As for what 9-1-1 season 3 was doing filming down in Mexico, nobody is saying all that much about it at the moment — this may be an opportunity for some of the first responders to assist in a crisis happening there. We know that traveling to nearby crises is something that many fire departments and other first responders do upon occasion, and it should help to give the Fox series a little bit more authenticity. Giving the show a wider range of terrain to showcase is hardly a bad thing, and it does make us all the more excited about what Ryan Murphy and the producers are bringing to the table visually.
911 season 3 will air on Fox Monday nights this fall.
