Blue Bloods: Donnie Wahlberg’s 50th birthday celebrated by co-star, more

Blue Bloods season 10

While Blue Bloods season 10 may not be in production today, it’s very much a big day nonetheless. After all, it’s Donnie Wahlberg’s 50th birthday! It’s such a huge achievement in his life and we hope that it’s a day that will be remembered for him for many years to come.

We know that leading up to it, Donnie was busy working on the show as Danny Reagan! The last scene before he wrapped filming for the week involved him in the squad room with Marisa Ramirez and some of the brilliant background artists. Donnie paid tribute to some of them recently in a post on Instagram and today, someone else is paying tribute to him — think in terms of his TV sister in Bridget Moynahan (Erin).

In a post on her own Instagram (see HERE), you can see what Bridget had to say to Donnie on his big day. The two have worked together since the very start of the show and built a fantastic bond because of that. That’s a part of what makes Blue Bloods a family onscreen and off — they spend so much time together that they feel like relatives in their own way! They work together the majority of the year and for at least several hours a week, they gather in order to film family dinner. They’re never that far from each other.

To go along with the tribute from Bridget, Donnie has already received messages today from his famous brother Mark as well as his band New Kids on the Block. In between his music, his work on the CBS show, and some of his other entertainment ventures, Donnie remains one of the hardest-working guys out there. Hopefully, he gets a chance to relax on his big day.

Happy birthday Donnie, and here’s to many more! Of course, we’ll have more Blue Bloods news and updates coming up before too long.
