911 season 3 spoilers: Ronda Rousey nabs recurring role
According to a new report from Deadline, MMA fighter/wrestler Ronda Rousey has scored a recurring role on the upcoming Fox drama. What’s her role? Think along the lines of Lena Bosko, described as a “stoic and fearless member of the Los Angeles Fire Department Station 136 who leaps into action to save lives when a disaster hits.” We definitely think that the fire department is lucky to have Lena, given that the already-released season 3 trailer features a tidal wave hitting the Santa Monica pier — a moment that is almost sure to inspire a ton of chaos on the other side.

This is far from Rousey’s first foray into acting — in addition to movies, she previously had a guest gig over on NBC’s Blindspot. She’s also combined all of her talents as a prominent wrestler within the world of the WWE. This gives this casting another layer of sense, given that Fox is collaborating with the organization for SmackDown starting a little bit later this fall. While this casting may not have been done for cross-promotional reasons, we don’t think that it hurts to have one of the WWE’s most well-known wrestlers from the past couple of years on another show. That’s especially true for one from the world of Ryan Murphy — he’s long been known for innovative casting and we don’t think that this is any exception.
911 season 3 will be premiering this fall, where it will air as a part of their Monday-night lineup. We wouldn’t be surprised if there are some more guest stars announced in the weeks to come — with this series’ success, it does give them more of an opportunity to expand the world and introduce some new, interesting faces into the world.
