911 season 3 trailer: Prepare for the tidal wave to strike

911 season 2

As we approach 911 season 3, here is your reminder that this show manages to create almost a disaster movie every week. You get another example of this in the new trailer below.

What can you see here? It’s really so simple as a massive tidal wave striking Santa Monica Pier and causing all sorts of chaos as a result of it — that wave really comes out of nowhere, no? The entire trailer is about anticipation, as it brings you closer and closer to the wave striking the pier. You can see parents carrying their kids out of there in fear and running as fast as they can to get them to safer ground.

As someone who has been to that pier many times over the years, it’s well-situated in terms of it being able to handle some pretty gnarly waves. Yet, what the show’s bringing to the table is something that Los Angeles doesn’t traditionally have to deal with. It’s true — most of the crises on this show are the most extreme ones imaginable, but that’s a part of what makes it entertaining. It teeters on the edge of becoming larger than life at times, but the characters ground the story and make it into something you want to keep watching no matter what.

911 season 3 is going to be premiering on Fox this September, and it does feel like there are a lot of storylines that are still very open for exploration. Think in terms of Bobby and Athena’s relationship. Now that the two of them are married, what comes next for the two of them? Meanwhile, how in the world is Buck going to move forward in his life? There are some tough decisions to be made, but it is nice to see Maddie sticking around the call center after thinking at some points in season 2 like she wanted to pursue some other ventures.
