Pearson episode 6 preview: Jessica’s search for new backers

As we approach Pearson episode 6 on USA next week, is anyone else sensing a pattern here with Jessica’s story? Through every episode, we watch Gina Torres’ character do everything that she can in order to take on different issues in Chicago. Some of them are revolving around local politics, some are about the people, and others are about the key relationships in her life. Most of the episode titles have a political spin to them — that is why the next new episode is entitled “The Donor.”

We all know at this point how important donors are within the political world. They fund campaigns, they influence strategy, and they can cause all sorts of negative headlines. That’s why if you are a politician or a member of the campaign staff, you need to make sure that you’re taking money from the right people. Next week, it’s going to be Jessica’s responsibility to make sure that she gets things off for Bobby on the right foot.

As for what’s coming beyond next week’s new episode, we do feel as though Pearson is going to bring Jessica closer and closer to her breaking point. Because this is her show and she’s not a part of an ensemble in the same way that she was Suits, it means that the stakes here have to be larger than in any season of the show that we’ve had a chance to see so far.

there is still another large question that we’re left to ponder at the moment, and it’s so simple as whether or not there will be a season 2 of the series. The bad news is that season 1 is averaging more than 500,000 live viewers and a 0.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Yet, at least its ratings are steady throughout the first season so far. Everyone out there who is watching Pearson live seems to be excited enough to want to stick with it.
