Siren season 3 spoilers: Who is Tia? Meet Tiffany Lonsdale’s mermaid
According to a new report from Deadline, Tiffany Lonsdale (Ascension, SWAT) is going to be appearing as a series regular for the upcoming season — even if she isn’t in every episode, she is going to be a major part of the story. Tia is described as “an extremely intelligent mermaid with a highly evolved knowledge of the human condition. She speaks several languages, understands advanced science and technology and was trained as a high level warrior.”
Just from that description alone, it feels like Tia is the perfect person to help restore balance to mermaid life around Bristol Cove especially with the military sniffing around … but we know better than to think that everything is going to be coming up roses on the other side of this. Just because Tia is highly skilled doesn’t mean that she will get along with some of the other characters. is she going to be on the same side as Ryn? We’ve seen Ryn clashing with other mermaids in the past.
What we’re left to wonder at the moment is really this: Where did she get all of this knowledge and understanding of the human world? Is Tia somehow a part of her own, more advanced version of the Siren story somewhere else? All of this is interesting and there could be some sort of interesting role reversal in season 3. For a lot of season 2, Ryn found herself in the role of educator for some other mermaids in regards to human ways. Now, Ryn could be meeting someone who knows even more about humans than she does and has a lot more experience dealing with them.
Freeform confirmed already that Siren season 3 is going to be premiering at some point in the spring of next year, so you will be waiting for a while to see where the story goes from here. Why is that? Consider it largely a function of what’s going on behind the scenes with the series. It takes a long time to make and produce these episodes, given that we’re talking about a show with some elaborate visual effects at the center of it.
