The Orville, Wynonna Earp characters advance in Sci-Fi Character Battle

The Orville

Over the past several days, we have been seeing fans of many different sci-fi shows vote as a part of our ongoing Sci-Fi Character Battle! It’s been fun seeing a wide array of different fanbases come out in order to support their favorites, and we’re happy to say that voting on the first wave is now over.

So who is moving forward to the second round, which will begin late tomorrow afternoon? Check out the names of note below…

Wynonna Earp, Wynonna Earp – It’s no surprise to us that Melanie Scrofano’s title character from the Syfy series would move forward. Just remember for a moment how popular the show is! After its future fate was put into jeopardy because of a most unusual situation earlier this year, the fanbase fought tooth and nail to make sure that nothing happened. Because of their efforts, season 4 will air next year.

Wynonna is the driving force, understandably, behind her show. Her passion, her capacity to kick butt, and of course her sense of humor are three of the reasons why she is so beloved … and also why she’s probably going to be a force to be reckoned with for quite some time moving forward. By that, we mean both in this competition and the show itself.

Ed Mercer, The Orville – Speaking of a show that has a devoted audience, why not put a spotlight on Seth MacFarlane’s hero? Ed’s a guy with a big imagination and a desire to both love and be loved. Yet, he’s also in charge, alongside Kelly Grayson, of running a ship full of characters. He can be an action hero if need be, but navigating the social politics and relationships of this ship are equally important.

What makes The Orville so special is that it is so more than just one thing. It has some of the comedic elements that you would expect from a show executive-produced by MacFarlane, but it’s also dramatic, imaginative, and it helps you learn more about not just yourself, but also the world around you. It’s magical in a way few shows these days are … but you have to wait until 2020 to see more.

What do you think about Ed and Wynonna advancing, and who do you want to see win the Sci-Fi Character Battle moving forward? Be sure to share in the comments, and remember to stick around for some other news.
