‘Saturday Night Live’: Louis C.K., fun. to appear November 3

During this weekend’s edition of “Saturday Night Live,” there was some breaking news that is sure to make all fans of great comedy stand up and cheer: Louis C.K. is coming on board to host!

The announcement was brief, but this marks the “Louie” star’s first-ever appearance on the show as a host. Hopefully, he will get plenty of opportunities to show off his comedy chops, and will not be forced into doing some of the recent chores forced upon some other recent hosts (which include singing or taking part in sketches that don’t really go anywhere). He did write for the show extensively earlier on his career, and occasionally showed up in a sketch or two, though not as a major player by any means.

As for the musical guest for the episode, it will be a group in fun. that really should have made their first appearance on the show a long time ago. They are best known for their hit single “We Are Young,” but they also have another hit out now in “Some Nights” that has quickly found its way onto the radio over the past several months, even to the point where it is now a top 10 hit. (The group originally rose to fame thanks to a “Glee” cover along with a memorable Super Bowl commercial.)

Overall, we could not be any more excited about this news. Not only is Louis a great actor, but he also has the writing chops to back it up. Hopefully, this will give “SNL” yet another shot in the arm after some weak shows as of late.
