Pearson episode 5 preview: ‘The Former City Attorney’

Entering Pearson episode 5 on USA next week, we wouldn’t be shocked if the goal is to expand outward some of the universe a little bit. We already know a lot about Jessica Pearson — that’s a consequence from seeing her be a part of this franchise for so long! It’s a welcome thing to have with this show, mostly because it gives you a touchstone. There’s less uncertainty with her, and she serves as an entry point to the rest of this Chicago world — one that is full of corruption and complications.

This upcoming episode is going to carry with it the title of “The Former City Attorney,” and if this is like the past few episodes of the show, we’re going to have a chance to see this figure somehow involved. We’ve seen a very methodical approach to the storytelling so far this season, with the writers using a lot of patience when it comes to giving us the various ins and outs of some characters. Take, for example, Keri — we know a lot about her history with the Mayor and a complicated relationship with Jessica Pearson. Moving forward, we’re going to have a chance to learn a little bit more about her past. Yet, that’s not the only part of the upcoming story that matters.

Before this episode comes to a close, we have a feeling that we’re going to see some more twists thrown out there — also, we’re curious what the Chicago tour really is. As we know, there are multiple parts of the Windy City, just as there are multiple parts of any city. There are some parts that are peaceful and others that are dangerous. The tour that’s offered here could be dependent heavily on whatever this CEO is trying to achieve.
