Is Are You the One? new tonight at MTV? Where is it?
After airing the past several weeks on Wednesday nights, it’s fair to both want and hope that the series would stick in its current timeslot. It had an audience here and we certainly wanted to see it continue to build whatever it could here.
However, clearly MTV has other plans. Are You the One? is now airing Monday nights at 11:00 p.m. Eastern and it will continue to do so for the remainder of the season. It’s a weird timeslot given that it’s A) after primetime and B) a big change right in the middle of a season where there established fans. Yet, we guess the network things that it will help support The Hills: New Beginnings and they can build more of a block of popular unscripted shows.
One thing we do know for sure is simply this: Are You the One? didn’t need to move. It’s not exactly like MTV is airing a ton of other programs on Wednesday night that have to be there.
We just hope that people continue to watch Are You the One? in its new timeslot — this has been an intriguing season, especially with it being the first one to feature a cast who is open to dating everyone else in the cast. It’s explored the idea of sexuality and fluidity in a way that is fascinating to watch — it’s a reminder that all of us are people who should be loved and accepted. Of course, just like every other reality show under the sun there are contestants who are going to be loved and ones who are going to be hated, but what the writers do a great job at is making sure that there’s still a larger message there — one that allows these people to still be who they are.
Are You the One? will be back with its next new episode, as mentioned, Monday night on MTV. If you do want to preview that further, all you have to do is visit the link here now.
