Suits season 9 episode 5 preview: How does Mike Ross return?

So what makes this upcoming episode different? For starters, it’s the circumstance. Mike Ross isn’t back to just go grab a drink with Mike and reminisce about some old times. Instead, there’s a conflict that could drive these two longtime friends apart. Not only that, but Samantha Wheeler is going to find herself in the most unfortunate position of being stuck in between. For more, just look at the Suits season 9 episode 5 synopsis:
“Samantha gets caught in the middle when Mike picks a fight with Harvey.”
Mike’s the one who initiates the conflict, but it’s likely not out of nowhere. There’s something that happens with Harvey’s client that gets the ball rolling and we’ll have to see where things start to unravel from there.
If you love drama, we’re going to get plenty of it within this episode — and also some humor at the same time. We have a hard time imagining that Patrick is coming back to Suits just for the writers to have the two of them screaming at each other the whole time. They’re going to want to establish a balance between the sentimental and the serious. They also may want to set the stage for another return down the road. Judging from the fact that the series finale table read just happened yesterday, and Adams posted the image below on his Instagram, it’s fair to assume he’ll be coming back for that, as well. That’s been hinted at for a while but never 100% confirmed.
