Is Blood & Treasure renewed for season 2? Premiere date hopes at CBS
Let’s kick things off here by answering the initial question in the title — there will be a season 2 of the action/adventure series. CBS confirmed the wonderful news a little bit earlier this summer, even in spite of some lower ratings. Overall, this is a series averaging around a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and just over 3.7 million live viewers. These aren’t stellar figures compared to the CBS standard, but there are some other things to consider. Take, for starters, the fact that there are a lot of people catching up on Blood & Treasure after it airs … and that with the sort of show that this is, there’s a good chance that the streaming performance will grow in the months to come. Who doesn’t love a great adventure story, especially in the summer!?
Because the ratings for Blood & Treasure season 1 were what they were, we have a hard time thinking that CBS will be airing it any earlier than the summer of 2020. Also, it’s going to take some time in order for there to be some new episodes, as well. They need to be filmed, and that does take some time given the nature of this show and the places Danny and Lexi visit. Patience is a virtue towards making more of this happen, especially since the goal here may very well be trying to make the story bigger and better than ever.
Expect more news on a firm Blood & Treasure season 2 premiere date when we get around to early next year. There’s no real hurry, but we would say to expect a natural evolution. Thanks to this season, the producers know more than ever what makes this show great: Fantastic action, fun characters, and cool implementation of historical artifacts and treasure. This is one of those few series out there where the title can really speak for itself and stuff doesn’t have to be any more complicated than that.
