Descendants 3 star Cameron Boyce remembered in tribute video

Cameron Boyce

Following the end of Descendants 3 on Disney Channel on Friday night, the network decided to do its part in order to pay homage to one of its big stars and bright lights in Cameron Boyce.

In the video below, you can see what is a touching tribute video entitled “For Cameron” that looks back at many of his achievements over the course of his career at the network, including his iconic television roles, his performance in these movies, and also the person that he was behind all of it. There’s a typical adage with young actors that if they aren’t a joy to be around, they can be replaced with someone else. Obviously, Cameron’s staying power across all of the Disney Channel is a testament to his skill, but also the quality of a person he was. He worked hard and did right by all of his fellow cast and crew members.

This video goes above and beyond to show viewers out there who Cameron Boyce was and also what he meant to the network as a star. It gives viewers on the other side of this movie a chance to reflect and think about who brought them so much entertainment. We also think that it is perfectly played insofar as tone. Death is not an easy thing to introduce to young viewers and there were many likely watching Descendants 3 tonight. You have to find a way to strike the right balance of hope and also sadness. This video does it — it’s sensitive to viewers while also meaningful in its message and it allows you to understand fully his place within the larger Disney world. It even presents advice to viewers as to how to deal with losing a friend or anyone they care about.

Cameron Boyce will be missed, though we know there is more of his work to come that he shot before his death. He left us all far too soon, though he left us with a vast library of stuff designed to make viewers smile and think a little bit differently about the world. We know that some of his work will live on for generations.

Our thoughts continue to go out to Cameron’s family and loved ones in what has to be a difficult time for them. (Photo: Disney Channel.)
