What does the cast and crew of SEAL Team do in order to stay in shape? As you would imagine, it’s not easy work. This is a show that requires a lot out of you when you are on set and, beyond that, it also requires a lot out of you when you are away from it, as well. You are spending so much time in production making sure you have your lines down and you’re following the director’s instructions; you don’t have a whole lot of time to pump iron or build up your cardio.
For more information on the SEAL Team workout routine, all you have to do is check out the video below! In it, cast member AJ Buckley notes that the routine for becoming the ideal SEAL Team cast member is rigorous and requires a lot of dedication. This requires early mornings, and for Buckley, we’re talking sometimes 3:00 a.m. workouts so that he can still spend time with his kids. He has to manage his schedule with fitness in mind even after long work days, he has to find a way to work out on Saturdays.

Yet, remember this — every single mission on SEAL Team has to look and feel authentic. In order for characters like Buckley’s Sonny to actually feel like a real Navy SEAL, they need to have the proper training. They need to go through all of the paces. There is a lot of tough, physical work here in order to look and feel the part.
We imagine that there are some exciting things to come this season for Buckley as Sonny in season 3 — his relationship with Davis was a breath of fresh air in season 2 and we do still like to think of him as the heart and soul of the team. The more we get of Sonny, the happier we’re going to be.
