The Blacklist season 7 premiere, episode 2 will deliver the goods right away

Just in case you were worried at all that The Blacklist season 7 premiere was going to hold anything back, don’t be. Instead, it feels like the first couple of episodes are going to be every bit as awesome, if not more so, than the first two episodes of season 6. If you remember, those two episodes set the stage for Reddington’s incarceration plus also featured all sorts of great drama around the UN.

In a new post on Twitter, series star Amir Arison (Aram on the show) made it clear that the first two episode scripts “feel like an entire season” in terms of their content. There’s some significant jaw-dropping moments and this could signify the writers going for it. After all, there’s no indication yet as to whether or not season 7 is the final season — if it is, we may see a real intention to hit you with a lot of important stuff right away. Even if it’s not the final season and there is more good stuff to come, there are a lot of answers the writers are looking to deliver. Think in terms of where we are at the moment with Katarina Rostova, who seemingly injected Reddington and captured him at the end of season 6.

Was that Katarina for sure at the end of season 6, or an imposter who served as a part of a larger stunt? We’ve broken down that final scene about a million different times, wondering how Katarina had people on standby unless she knew that Reddington was coming … and also what role the mysterious Stranger had in all of this. There are answers that are coming and maybe it pushes us closer to learning the truth about who Reddington really is.

One thing that we’ve learned about The Blacklist over time is that there’s a kernel of truth in almost every clue — but there’s also a lot of subterfuge. Trying to separate the truth from everything around it can be a most arduous task.
