Grey’s Anatomy season 16 teases: Caterina Scorsone, Giacomo Gianniotti
First, let’s talk about the return of Amelia! In a post on Instagram, Caterina Scorsone offered up a first look at herself for the new batch of episodes. This is going to be an interesting season for Amelia based solely on the new direction in her life. Think back to the start of season 15 — did you ever think that we’d be at a point where she was pursuing something with Link? That didn’t feel likely and yet, here we are seeing that exact thing come to pass.
Through season 16, we will have a chance to check out the next iteration of the Amelia/Link relationship, including whether or not it’s something that becomes serious and also what becomes of Amelia’s feelings for Owen. Those don’t just go away overnight, especially when you consider how long the two of them were invested in each other.

As for DeLuca and Meredith…
We also have a new image from Giacomo Gianniotti on his own Instagram, which gives you a sense that one way or another, we’re going to have a chance to see DeLuca in scrubs again! Does that mean that he gets his job and his freedom back? That seems likely, but we were never all that concerned about his status in the first place. Remember that Grey’s Anatomy is a show about a hospital, and it’s kinda hard for it to be able to tell some of those stories when you’ve got multiple characters standing in the metaphorical unemployment line.
