NBC’s ‘Community’ season 4 video: Troy and Abed explain show’s delay

Remember back when tonight was supposed to mark the return of “Community” to television? Those were the days. Now, we’re just all sitting around waiting to see if the show really is going to come on this fall at all. After scheduling the show on Fridays, which was a terrible move to begin with given that most of its audience is young, NBC has since decide to air repeats of “Grimm” in that spot for the time being while they wait to fill a hole on their schedule with the comedy. One came open earlier this week when “Animal Practice” was canceled, but the spot instead went to “Whitney.” (Sigh … though we do know what the network was trying to do in putting two traditional sitcoms together.)

So what do we have for you now while we wait? Quite possible the greatest off-season spot ever for the show featuring Troy, Abed, and a number of the other main characters talking about the “delay” for the latest “Troy and Abed in the Morning” video.

Somehow, this video alone gives us so much hope that the show is going to be as brilliant as ever, since this clip really captures all the fun that we love about the show. Plus, we love everything from the subtle nods to “Community” flash mobs with felt beards to the fact that NBC tried to give Crystal the Monkey (otherwise referred to as a certain part of Annie’s anatomy) her own show in the aforementioned vet comedy. With this, we had the best open mockery of “Community” of a canceled show since “The Cape” back in season two. (Six seasons and a movie!)
