The Bachelorette finale: Peter Weber eliminated in third place

Peter

At the start of Monday night’s The Bachelorette finale, we knew that there would be a final three Rose Ceremony. Someone was going to be eliminated, and the only thing that we were probably confident about was that Jed Wyatt was making it to the final two. Given what Hannah Brown had confessed to him earlier this season, he was too much of a sure thing to ignore.

As referenced in the title for this article, this rose ceremony marked the end of the story for Peter Weber … at least in terms of being out on location in Greece. Peter and Hannah did have a strong physical bond, and because of everything that had happened with them the past few episodes, it would have been easy to assume that Pilot Pete would fly away with the whole competition.

That didn’t happen and with that, Pete has the most stunning elimination of the entire season. We do think that he has potential to be the next Bachelor, but there’s a lot that needs to be addressed throughout the weeks to come on that.

Just in case watching The Bachelorette tackle Peter’s apparent heartbreak on the show itself was not enough for you, tonight’s episode also decided to bring you a family interview with Chris Harrison! This felt from the get-go like an audition for him to be the next Bachelor. The interview that Peter had with Hannah on the other side of his elimination went about as you would expect that it would — he wanted closure and he got everything that you imagined that he would. We didn’t really learn anything from this other than that this audience was extremely pro-Peter and that he and Hannah actually had a good rapport. There was a lot of windmill comedy thrown in here.

At the end of the interview, Hannah admitted that she lied about how many times she and Peter were together in the windmill — it was FOUR times. This was the moment that the show went off the rails. It was weird, awkward, and so many other emotions rolled into one.
