Big Little Lies season 3: Nicole Kidman on possible future
Take, for example, the subject of the women all going to the police at the end of season 2 — and whether or not that was always the plan for the finale to end that way. Speaking via Entertainment Weekly, Nicole Kidman noted that she wanted some elements of the construction of season 2 to still be secret. why? Because it leaves the door open for a little bit more down the road:
It’s so important not to discuss all of the intricacies of this, because if we do a season 3, there’s going to be things that will be explained. It’s probably better to allow just a little mystery. I know the voracious appetite for knowledge and to leave no stone unturned. But I’m always going to fight for just a little bit…there can be a few mysteries and secrets held intact.
Meanwhile, Kidman also discussed how the entire cast is viewing the idea of more new episodes:
It’s a collaboration. We work as a group. We are incredibly tight; we talk to each other, and we are on each other’s side. So, we will decide as a group. We listen to the way in which people react because so much of TV is a very immediate medium. Every single person who has made this has said this show is bigger than any single one of us.
For now, we think that the show is going to be off in the TV ether as the cast takes on some other problems — but never say never. This feels like the sort of thing where in, one year’s time, everyone could decide that they miss working together and they go ahead and decide to order more of the story.
