Is NOS4A2 renewed for season 2 over at AMC, canceled? Current status

Is NOS4A2 renewed for a second season moving into tonight’s finale over at AMC? Within this article, let’s take that question on! To go along with that, let’s also talk a little bit about the future.

The good news is that you don’t have to worry about the Zachary Quinto drama for the near future — the show is coming back for more! This news was first confirmed one week ago at San Diego Comic-Con, with AMC president David Madden saying the following in an official statement:

“This otherworldy series makes remarkable work of Joe Hill’s spine-tingling novel, deftly helmed by Jami O’Brien and with captivating performances by Zachary Quinto and Ashleigh Cummings and the rest of the talented cast … NOS4A2 has kept viewers on the edge of their seats since its debut, and we are ready to jump right back in to this story for season two.”

When you look at the series’ ratings, you get a good picture as to why AMC wanted to bring it back — while a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and over 800,000 live viewers weekly aren’t tremendous numbers, they are good enough to justify more new episodes. To go along with that, we think that AMC is also probably pleased with some of the consistency that they’ve seen with the show time and time again. From about episode 4 onward this season, the numbers have been roughly the same — almost every new series out there loses some viewers the first few weeks and it’s really all about what you have on the other side of it that matters. Those could be the viewers who stick with you for a season 2 and beyond.

More than likely, NOS4A2 season 2 will be arriving onto AMC when we get around to the new year — there is enough time in there for the cast and crew to get back together and craft some new stories. There are ten more episodes coming, and we would anticipate them bringing us the same sort of adventures that you got the first time around … just with even more adventure and excitement than ever before.

As for when news on NOS4A2 season will start to come out, be prepared to exercise some patience there. We don’t think that AMC will be in any hurry to announce more details; it may not be until early next year.
