Fuller House season 5: Jodie Sweetin on saying goodbye to series

Fuller House

Fuller House season 5 is set to be the final season of the show over on Netflix, and we imagine that the process of saying goodbye is quite difficult. It has to be, right?

While it may be hard to say goodbye, at the same time the cast and crew is making it clear that there are a couple of parts of the process that are making it a little bit easier. Take, for example, having gone through decades of history with some of your fellow cast members already.

Speaking in a new interview via Access, Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner) passed along the following message in regards to how departing the show this go-around isn’t anywhere near as hard as having to do so following the end of Full House so many years ago:

“I think it’s a little easier this time. The first time, it was like ‘am I going to see [these people] again?’ … Now, we’re here for each other through thick and thin. It makes it a little easier in that I know I won’t be saying goodbye to them. It’s just [missing] working with them every day.”

Fuller House is deep into production at the moment on the final batch of episodes, and we have to hope that they are going to continue to bring you so many different things that you’ve come to love over the years — think in terms of emotional sequences, fun family moments, and nods to the original series. We’re expecting that one way or another, there are a lot of familiar faces we will see before the series comes to a close.

Meanwhile, Sweetin also talked about some of John Stamos’ recent comments that a prequel or something else related to the show could be in consideration. Yet, she notes that it would be hard to do a prequel with the same exact group of familiar faces:

“A prequel would be interesting, because I don’t know how they would have any of the original characters.”

Maybe a Full House prequel could work involving some of the main characters when they were younger? The only other idea is finding a way to do a sitcom featuring a small character from this show … but it’s hard to imagine who you would want to choose.
