The Affair season 5 teaser teases introspection, one-month wait

The wait for The Affair season 5 has been a long one but the good news is this: It will be over before you know it.

Today, Showtime unveiled their latest seven-second teaser for the upcoming season premiering in a month, and because it is so short, there’s not a lot of time in order to dive into any individual story.

Yet, we are able to take at least a few different things away from this, starting with the simple fact that isolation is going to be a big part of the story coming up for both Noah and Joanie.

For Noah, we understand where he is in the aftermath of the season 4 finale — he’s went through a lot with Cole and Anton following the death of Allison and he may be feeling this want for closure in his life. He is going to approach Helen within this season looking to figure out a way to earn forgiveness for the past … but is such a thing even possible.

As for Joanie, the version of the character we’re talking about is the older one. She is going to be so far removed from the events of the present version of the series, but as we’ve seen on this show over the years, the past, the present, and the future collide in some rather fascinating ways. She is going to do everything that she can within this season to get some answers about what happened to Allison — it’s still hard to know if she’s going to find the very thing she so desperately seeks, but we’re curious to watch these vents all play out.

As we mentioned, The Affair season 5 is going to premiere in one month’s time. Be prepared for a lot of emotional content … and we really hope that we see Cole at some point, even if Joshua Jackson is not a series regular.
