This Is Us season 4 spoilers: Is another version of Big Three coming?
In a new post on Twitter, show executive producer Dan Fogelman seemingly confirmed that there are younger versions coming up of Kate, Randall, and Jack — just look at the picture! Bringing forward new young actors for these characters makes a good bit of sense, mostly because kid actors age so quickly and this is a different era than what the writers have explored so far. We’ve seen the Pearson kids as infants, toddlers, pre-teens, and then also teenagers/young adults, but not around the age where they would be going to school for the first time. This seems to be an indicator that this era is coming.

What’s left to tell within this era? That is one of the things that season 4 will look to address. One of the big challenges for the show at this point is figuring out what to do with someone like Jack Pearson. He’s dead in the present, we’ve already seen in Vietnam, and we’ve also seen how he and Rebecca met for the first time. Where is the show going to go in order to ensure more Jack stories are told? There could be some secrets here that explain more of where the Big Three are in the present.
Through This Is Us season 4, we imagine that the writers are going to start building towards what we saw in the flash-forwards — we know that Kevin becomes a father and Rebecca looks to be on her deathbed, but how did we get there? What happened to Kate? Are some of these characters happy? How did Nicky get more immersed into the Pearson family’s life? There are still so many stories left to tell!
