Good Trouble season 2 episode 6 video: Birthday performances
Well … it would be exciting under some circumstances. It’s a little more frustrating for some members of the Coterie when you think in terms of what’s going on here. It’s Malika’s birthday and for her celebration, she wants some of her roommates to put on some sort of performance for her. That could create a memorable experience, but the idea of a performance is a little bit less organic when you are asking for it in advance. That makes things interesting going into the performances themselves, which may end up producing some surprise revelations on the other side of it. Let’s just say that sometimes, people have a tendency to learn a thing or two from these moments that they would not be able to figure out otherwise.
The first sneak peek (which CarterMatt has for you below) focuses on some of Malika’s roommates trying to figure out how they are going to handle this particular request. Meanwhile, the second sneak peek revolves a little more around how some of these people are going to be dealing with the preparation for it. Davia is scrambling to think about an idea, which leads to Dennis suggesting a possible performance of “Falling Slowly,” a beautiful song from Once that has for some reason fallen through the pop-culture cracks over the past few weeks. (Here’s our take on “Falling Slowly” — it’s the sort of song that makes you almost want to immediately ‘ship some characters with others.)
Given Davia’s reluctance to go through with this song choice, we have to imagine that she’s got another idea in mind. Maybe that is something that will be a little bit further explored as we get closer to the end of the episode.
Even if there wasn’t a party coming up on Tuesday’s Good Trouble, remember this — a lot of the revelations that some of these people are holding onto were going to be getting exposed eventually. That’s just a big part of the fabric of this show — secrets never stay that way!
