Jane the Virgin season 5 episode 17 preview: The last before finale
What lies ahead on Jane the Virgin season 5 episode 17? At the moment, the most important thing to point out is just what we’re close to — the series finale. There are just a couple of episodes left until the story ends! That’s not an easy thing to digest and from here on out, it’s only going to get harder. (Remember that on July 31, there is a two-hour spectacular happening, including a behind-the-scenes special leading up to the final installment of the series.)
Within next week’s episode, the story will pick up on the other side of Jane’s big decision in regards to Rose, and she’ll be making a big decision in regards to her book as there are some various possibilities right in front of her for what she should do from here. This is almost a “so close, but yet so far” episode. Within the series finale, you may get a chance to see some dreams start to come true … but if you’re the writers, you don’t want to see it happen too fast. Everything comes about with a certain degree of moderation!

ROADBLOCKS – Jane (Gina Rodriguez) is feeling great about all the book publishing prospects she has until an unexpected problem pops up. Petra (Yael Grobglas) and Rafael’s (Justin Baldoni) working relationship has been going so well that Petra makes Rafael an unexpected offer. It seems like every time Rogelio (Jaime Camil) takes one step closer to his dream, a new roadblock appears. Andrea Navedo and Ivonne Coll also star. Whatever happens within this episode will set up the finale, so don’t expect anything to be set up that then takes another three or four weeks to try and then unravel. The writers had a clear path at the time they were plotting this out as to where the story would go so expect things to move about in a reasonably clear direction. There’s a specific plan now and we’re going to get to see them move from point A to point B.
