‘Mad Men’ season 6 spoilers: Where is Jon Hamm heading now?

There is almost a little bit of irony in the story that we are posting here. Less than twelve hours after we shared our first bit of “Mad Men” speculation in a month with a warning that there may not be any more for a while, there is some breaking news coming out on a super-secret filming sequence happening for the AMC show this weekend … and it’s one that is sure to polarize fans given the way in which season 5 ended earlier this year.

According to a new report from Deadline, Jon Hamm, Jessica Pare, and a small crew are set to embark to Hawaii for a shoot this weekend that will include some footage for the first episode of season 6. It only makes sense for the two to embark on at least a little bit of traveling; after all, Don Draper does have money, and Megan may be flying high courtesy of her new commercial.

Unfortunately, the filming of this scene does not serve to answer what is for us a key question: did Don cheat on Megan that night at the bar? While there is a part of us that wants to say that he did just to see a return to form, the other part of us actually is hoping that he stayed faithful. Why? We don’t feel like Megan is the Jar Jar Binks of “Mad Men” like many other fans do, and we appreciate Matthew Weiner actually being willing to paint a realistic picture here of what happens in the real world when it comes to relationships. You don’t get divorced, and then spend a ton of your time talking with your ex while not moving on with someone else in time. Megan may not have been as flawed as Betty, but it was nice to see Don try and learn from his own mistakes.
