As we enter Animal Kingdom season 4 episode 9, it’s clear that J has a lot of work to do to correct the mistakes of his past. He got too close to Mia, he mistreated her, and then he took his eye off the ball with her and assumed someone like her would not want any revenge on him. He put himself in this position where he allowed himself, Craig, and Deran to be bruised-up and bloodied in the ambo (ambulance) accident, and for the end result of their heist to be nothing like what it actually ended up being. There was a lot of chaos here and J’s cleaned up some of it — killing Mia and trying to halt that operation is one way to make that happen.
Now, the question that you have to wonder is whether or not it’s all truly over? Are we going to be in a situation where he’s able to clean up everything happened? Maybe, but it won’t happen right away. There’s more for him to sift through while some of the other characters have their own issues that they’ve gotta deal with.
Below, the Animal Kingdom season 4 episode 9 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you has more news on what’s coming:
J faces the consequences of his missteps with Mia; Pope worries about Smurf’s disappearance, while Smurf visits someone from her past; Craig grows frustrated with Deran’s secrecy after Deran recruits him for a dangerous assignment.
Are we going to learn what Smurf is up to in this episode? It looks that way after Ellen Barkin was conspicuously absent this week. We’re also thinking that within this one, there is going to be a chance to better justify some of those flashbacks we’ve been seeing most of the season. Her visiting someone from her past may connect more directly to what we’ve been seeing back then and it could end up being important to the character’s final endgame.
As for Deran’s mission, is it possible that it has to do with the police? That’s one theory for it because of how Adrian’s been mixed up in all of that stuff. Deran wants Adrian to be okay, and he’s also interested in not constantly looking over his shoulder. He may view this situation as the best of both worlds.
